Nine years ago, when I was first introduced to direct sales and network marketing, I didn’t have a clue how to find prospects. I modeled what most people do in this business. I went to family and friends and anyone in general, pushing product samples, DVDs, or catalogs, hoping these people would get excited to join my business.
It didn’t work.
People are looking for community and connection. They are not looking to be sold and if you are using that model, you are going to be burned out, stressed out and probably upsetting a lot of people around you.
Recently, as a guest of Celine Egan, Co-Founder of Direct Selling Entrepreneurs
Network, in Australia, I shared how to magnetically attract and pull your ideal prospects to you. And how you no longer have to rely on family and friends as potential prospects.
You can access this free training by going to Direct Selling Entrepreneurs Network. (NOTE: The free training will be available for a limited time.)

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary,
because it means you’ve made a difference.
It’s easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.

We all have a tendency to put things off, procrastinate, for various reasons and it’s easy to delay doing things.
For most people, procrastinating is a way to put off something you really don’t want to do. I know, because I do. Perhaps you can relate. The reason I put off doing something was because I just didn’t know what or how to do whatever it was to move my business forward. Most often, I would get overwhelmed and confused about what I had to do, and more importantly how!
Understanding why you procrastinate helps you to do something about it. Procrastination is the biggest thief, and the longer you procrastinate, the longer you delay your success.
When the pain of not doing something becomes greater than the pain of doing it, resistance will magically disappear. And you will stop procrastinating, and you will find that it wasn’t as bad as you thought after all.
Here are three things you can do to overcome procrastination:
Are you a procrastinator? One of the best ways to overcome procrastination is to have someone guide you and show you what and how to reach your goals and to hold you accountable. If you would like to know how to reach your goals faster, go here.

I am your constant companion. I am your greatest helper or your heaviest burden.
I will push you onward or drag you down to failure. I am completely at your command.
Half the things you do, you might just as well turn over to me, and I will be able to do them quickly and correctly.
I am easily managed; you must merely be firm with me. Show me exactly how you want something done, and after
a few lessons I will do it automatically. I am the servant of all great men. And, alas, of all failures as well.
Those who are great, I have made great. Those who are failures, I have made failures. I am not a machine,
though I work with all the precision of a machine, plus, the intelligence of a man.
You may run me for profit, or run me for ruin; it makes no difference to me. Take me, train me, be firm with me and
I will put the world at your feet. Be easy with me, and I will destroy you.
Who am I?
I am a habit.

Think about this. All habits, good and bad, greatly impact your life and your business. It is important that you make daily choices, those influenced by your habits, which will bring you closer to your goals and dreams.
What habit or habits have you adopted that have had a positive impact in your life and your business?

“80% of life’s satisfaction comes from meaningful relationships.” Brian Tracy
Do you believe it?
I’m sure we can all agree that we would like to have better relationships. The 100/0 Principle is simple and powerful and shows us how. It’s this:
You take full responsibility for the relationship
THE 100
Expect nothing in return
THE 0
These are the steps to follow:
There’s a paradox and when that occurs, true breakthroughs happen.
The lessons:
1. It’s about giving not taking.
2. It’s about the heart, not the head.
3. It’s about kindness, respect and patience.
Be 100%! It could change your life and your business!

In his report, The Miracle of Self-Discipline, Brian Tracy says, “The ability to develop the habit of self-discipline will contribute more to your success than any other quality of character. Self-discipline can be practiced, strengthened and developed like any other skill, through training. It includes being self-directed and having the stamina to persevere.”
Being disciplined gives you the strength to face challenges and obstacles, setbacks and disappointments, whether physical, emotional or mental. It means delaying immediate gratification, in order to gain something better, but which requires effort and time.
When you are consistent in doing the things you know you should do, when you know you should do them, you will achieve your goals. Your self-esteem and self-confidence will soar, respect for you will grow, and you will influence and inspire others. You will have greater success in all areas of your life. The best part is you will enjoy a more rewarding and satisfying life.
Developing self-discipline has helped me:
Have you developed the habit of self-discipline? How have you benefited in your business and in your life? Your comments are welcome, encouraged and greatly appreciated.

If you haven’t achieved the success you want, what is holding you back? Could it be because you are blaming something or someone for your lack of success?
When I first joined a direct sales company nine years ago, my family did not like being a part of the industry. And in the beginning, I blamed my lack of success on those people. Later on, I realized some of those same people were never supporters of anything I pursued. When I decided I was no longer going to have any more pity parties, saying things like, “Nobody supports me” and “Nobody wants what I have” my life changed.
Here’s the mindshift.
Take 100% responsibility – complete responsibility for everything – for the actions you take and the ones you don’t – there is no blame, no shame – good and bad – no matter what has transpired in your business (and in your life).
Recently, I read Marianne Williamson’s new book, The Divine Law of Compensation. In there she says, “When we take full responsibility for the places where we know in our hearts we underperformed in the past, or acted without integrity, or failed to respect opportunities and abundance that once were ours, we experience the miracle of the Atonement. Atonement is a mental process through which we correct our perceptions, thus changing the trajectory or probabilities that unfold as a result.”
She goes on to say, “Atonement is like a spiritual reset button. It is a gift from God, providing us the opportunity to clear the karma of past mistakes by owning them, taking responsibility for them, admitting them, making amends for them, and doing whatever is possible to change the patterns of behavior that created the situation that now causes us shame.”
And then she ends by saying, “We recognize past errors and pray, “I am willing to be different than I was before. Please show me how.” The universe then corrects all limitations caused by our wrong-minded thinking. Guilt dissolves from our mind as thoughts of mercy and love replaces it.”
It’s freeing when you take 100% responsibility for your success and it’s empowering when you take control of your life. And you can empower others to do the same!
Now, think about where you are at in your business or life. If you are not where you want to be, what do you need to do to change your situation? How would it feel to be unstoppable in 2013? Go here to learn how.

You may be reflecting on the last year. It’s easy to look back and think about all the things that didn’t happen that you had hoped. It can even be discouraging and frustrating when you look at other people who may be advancing faster in their business than you.
Instead of thinking of what you didn’t accomplish or comparing yourself to others, think about the results you did have. Express gratitude for the progress you did make. You stayed committed. You didn’t quit!
Now with a New Year, it’s a great time for a fresh start. You can prepare for success by creating a clear vision of what it is you want to achieve.
Here is how.
Imagine you have fast-forwarded to December 31 and you are reflecting on the success you have achieved in 2013, feeling completely satisfied with your progress and results.
Complete the following sentence:
At the end of 2013, I now….
(Include specific business results you did achieve that made the year so successful. And write in the present tense since your success has already happened!)
After you complete this exercise, read it daily as it will help to pull you forward.
If you want help in achieving the success you desire, you can go to BE UNSTOPPABLE in 2013.

Chuck Swindoll is one of my favorite mentors. Today he talked about standing between two years and what a wonderful place to be. He says we are able to look back and see very clearly where we have been and always that brings a stark realization of contrast of these last 12 months. The difficult as well as the delightful. The joyful things as well as the things that cause us to choke back our tears. The high points and low tides we regret. The experiences that sort of made the day and then the other moments that we would soon rather forget.
How was your year?
What changes do you want to take place in 2013?
What aspirations do you have for your life, your family and the difference you want to make in the world?
Are you open to change? Did you know when you are open to change, you live courageously and victoriously rather than discouraged and defeated. Chuck calls this “living above the level of mediocre.”
If you are saying, “Enough is enough! This is my year!” go here to find out how you can BE UNSTOPPABLE in 2013 .

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
