STEP OUT IN FAITH

Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Have you ever been excited about a new job or a new venture, but after you started, you soon realized it wasn’t what you thought it would be? What do you do? Do you continue and try to make it work or do you quit and move on to something else? Quitting can be the answer to success, yet it may be contrary to what many successful people say. Let’s consider this statement. As you go through life, your goals and desires will change. What may have been a goal at one time is no longer. It doesn’t mean that you are giving up on your goals or dreams; it just may mean that you are taking a different route in getting there. Several years ago, I embarked on a nutritional consulting business. I was very excited about sharing my knowledge, and more importantly, how I could help people lead healthy lifestyles. However, when I recognized there wasn’t a demand for my services, I was discouraged. Rather than hang on to what wasn’t working or beat myself up, I decided to move forward. Even though I still wasn’t sure of the next ‘what,’ I stepped out in faith and shifted my business focus. Going after your goals and dreams, to make your life the best it can be, involves a process of discovery. Never give up.
